The popular cliche, "You are what you eat" holds a wonderment of truth! Well, I've decided to make up my own and see if it sticks..."Your skin is a reflection of your gut health!" Ok, it lacks charm, but it's definitely the truth!

That's where a gut healthy diet comes in. Feeding our skin has never been more attainable or yummy! Did someone say grass fed butter? Yes, healthy fats are a key ingredient to maintaining a healthy glow.

Systemic inflammation from carbs (processed foods) and refined sugars play a large role in our premature aging process and undesirable skin conditions, such as psoriasis, acne, eczema, and rosacea to name a few. By radically reducing these inflammatory bullies and increasing healthy fats like avocados, olive oil, grass fed butter, and coconut oil, we are retraining our gut and benefiting our skin. What's more, the healthy fats you get from a gut healthy diet can encourage your intestinal cells to release a protein that reduces temporary bouts of inflammation that can damage your gut lining, and they can also promote the growth of bacteria that strengthen the tight junctions between the cells of your gut. "Happy gut-happy face!" Good cliche? No? Ok, I'll stick to skin health...
